Premier League season 'to be finished behind closed doors in four to six week period'

The rest of the Premier League season could take place without fans if new reports are accurate. Fixtures could take place behind closed doors to ensure the safety of players, staff and fans, even after the country has been declared safe of coronavirus risk.

The latest statement paused all professional English football until at least April 30, but the actual return of the sport is expected to be close to the start July.

A conference call is set to go ahead between The FA, the Premier League and the English Football League this weekend, which could see the ‘behind closed doors’ plans confirmed.

Football London have reported that the rest of the season, which is either nine or ten games for each club, could be completed within six weeks
