Primary school worker tests positive for coronavirus but parents told not to panic

A primary school has delayed reopening after a worker tested positive for coronavirus with two others going into self-isolation.

The member of staff had been working at Ward Jackson Primary School in Hartlepool, Teeside Live reported. They had not been in contact with pupils for three weeks, and had been socially distancing in the school.

In a letter to parents, Ward Jackson headteacher David Akers said: "We wanted to reassure you about the additional steps we are now taking to make sure our community remains safe. "The member of staff has only been in once in the last 3 weeks, has not had any direct contact with the children and observed social distancing whilst in school.
