Seven prisoners behind bars in Scottish jails were released back into the Stirling area. The measures were passed by the Scottish Parliament in April to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in prisons.Cornton Vale released nine prisoners early, Glenochil 20 and Polmont 31.The last group were released in the final phase of the scheme from May 26 to June 1.The scheme allows more single cell occupancy to keep prisoners and staff safe.It was limited to prisoners who had around 90 days left of their short sentence.
