Central Bank Governor Gabriel Makhlouf said there is potentially a risk that some people will find themselves unable to complete house purchases as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking on the Today with Sean O'Rourke show, Mr Makhlouf said that "it is in everyone's interest that banks make prudent lending decisions, unlike the reckless lending of the past'.
The Central Bank Governor is currently in Greece as he went there to visit his sick mother in March and now can not leave due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
