Limerick Fianna Fáil TD Willie O'Dea has said that the Government is "singling out" a cohort of people by stopping their Pandemic Unemployment Payment as a result of checks carried out at airports.
Yesterday, the Department of Social Protection confirmed that 104 cases of Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) have been stopped as a result of checks carried out at airports.
The PUP, which is worth up to €350, is paid to those who are actively seeking work. The Department said going on holidays or quarantining having returned home makes claimants ineligible for the payment.
