Residents at Wishaw care home enjoy themselves on away day trips without venturing too far

Residents at a Wishaw care home were able to enjoy a couple of days away – even while in lockdown.But nobody need worry, as unlike some government staff, no one was bending the rules set out in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus.Staff at Beechwood Care Home in Wishaw’s Bridge Street have been arranging virtual trips for residents who have been confined there since March.They have been using their imaginations to get away from it all for a while and have already embarked on a bus trip to the seaside at Largs.

Residents got into the spirit of the bus-trip to the Ayrshire coast with a sing-song including renditions of “Ye cannae shove yer Granny aff the bus” and “The back of the bus it cannae sing”.Then on another trip they ventured
