Robbery suspects climbed through windows of homes in Mayfair, stole car, police say

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - A Florida man is missing an eye after he was apprehended by a K9 following a traffic stop.  Terrell Bradley, 30, said his finger was also chewed up after he was apprehended by a Gainesville Police K9 following a traffic stop. After an investigation, the Gainesville Police Department has temporarily taken the K9 off duty. According to Gainesville Police, an officer tried to stop Bradley for a traffic violation two weeks ago.

Suspect sought in North Philadelphia robbery.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Police in Egg Harbor Township say a Philadelphia man has been arrested for an attempted luring of a child. According to authorities, police responded to Graef's Boat Yard at 101 Longport Boulevard on Sunday at 5:46 p.m.Officers met with two civilians who run a YouTube channel dedicated to catching child predators, police say. According to investigators, the YouTubers posed as an underage girl and they had messages they exchanged with 57-year-old Roger Tomes of Philadelphia. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESTomes thought he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl who he told to meet him on his boat in Egg Harbor Township to engage in sexual and illegal activities, police say. Police arrested Tomes and charged him with luring, according to officials. According to the Egg Harbor Township Police Chief, Tomes could face up to ten years in prison and a penalty of up to $150,000 if convicted. Anyone with any additional information is urged to contact police at 609-652-1234.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are searching for a homicide suspect, and asking for the public's help to identify him.A 23-year-old man was shot to death on the 600 block of Lippincott Street on July 6.Surveillance footage shows a man police are calling a suspect following the shooting.The suspect runs to Allegheny Avenue, where he is seen smiling as he boards a SEPTA bus.

PHILADELPHIA - Three men were hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being shot in a drive-by shooting in Kensington, according to police. Authorities say the shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 2500 block of Kensington Avenue. When police and medics arrived, they found a 34-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his legs. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he is in stable condition, per police. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators later learned that a 25-year-old man and a 49-year-old man showed up at Episcopal Hospital with gunshot wounds, police say. According to Small, the 25-year-old was shot in the hand and leg and the 49-year-old man was shot in the leg. Authorities say they know all three victims were shot on the 2500 block of Kensington Avenue. According to officials, the 25-year-old was inside a mini-mart playing lottery games when he was struck by stray gunfire. Small says the 49-year-old is homeless and was asleep on the street when he was also struck. Authorities say the 34-year-old who was shot is an employee of the minimart who was outside talking to customers when he was shot. At least five gunshots were fired, according to police. The mini-mart has cameras and captured the shooting, Small says. According to investigators, the surveillance shows a light-colored four-door Sedan going north on Kensington Avenue with a person firing the gun from the back seat of the driver's side.

A 37-year-old woman fired several gunshots, apparently at the ceiling, inside of Dallas’ Love Field Airport on Monday before an officer shot and wounded her, authorities said.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in a Montgomery County community are reminding residents to lock their doors after an uptick home burglaries. The Norristown Police Department believe the suspected burglar has entered homes through unlocked doors and windows since June.The department shared a photo of a suspect, who they believe is between 16-25-years-old, and said he has hit homes between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. All but one of the burglaries, according to investigators, happened between Markley and Stanbridge streets, and West Washington and West Oak streets. The Norristown Police Department shared photos of a suspect they say has entered several homes through unlocked doors and windows.

Suspects sought in armed carjacking.

DEWEY BEACH, Del. - Police have identified a man who was struck and killed by a car along a highway in a Delaware beach town after they say he was forced out of a rideshare vehicle following an argument with the driver.Sidney Wolf, 43, of Clarksburg, Maryland died just before 1:45 a.m. Sunday on Coastal Highway near Anchors Way in Dewey Beach.Police say Wolf and five others hired a Lyft driver to pick them up in Dewey Beach and take them to their residence in nearby Bethany Beach.After a disagreement with the group, police say the driver stopped the vehicle in the middle of the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, terminated the ride, and demanded the passengers exit.Authorities say a car traveling southbound swerved to miss the Lyft driver’s stopped vehicle and struck Wolf who had just exited and was standing in the roadway.Police say Wolf died at the scene.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say they are looking for a group of suspects caught on video before a man was shot and killed on Kelly Drive earlier this month.The victim, 30-year-old Taion Carter, died after he was reportedly shot once in the back of the head on the 2400 block of Kelly Drive on July 16.Witnesses told police they heard gunshots, then saw what appeared to be two teenage males jump in a car and flee the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.New video released by police shows several cars performing illegal maneuvers in a nearby parking lot around 6 a.m. Police say the group and the victim got into an altercation, which led to the fatal shooting.The suspects in the video are being sought by police in connection to the homicide.One of the vehicle seen in the video is a blue 2013 Dodge Charger with a black front end, black rims and Pennsylvania tag LSM-6861.Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-8477. 

PHILADELPHIA - A shooting in North Philadelphia left one man injured after police say gunfire erupted early Monday morning.The victim reportedly drove himself to the hospital after being shot twice, once in the arm and once in the ankle.A vehicle parked outside the hospital had several bullet holes in the body and window, as well as at least one window completely shattered.Police say at least 20 shell casings were found at the scene on the 1100 block of Stiles Street around 1:13 a.m. No information about suspects or motive were made available.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia has issued a Heat Health Emergency due to the ongoing heatwave in the region.The health emergency took effect Thursday at noon and is set to expire Monday night at 8 p.m. Officials say they maintain the right to extend the emergency if conditions warrant.The city’s declaration of the emergency puts into action heat programs set up for residents, including cooling centers, home visits for residents by special field teams, outreach for the homeless. And, as with any weather emergency, residents are urged to check on their neighbors, especially vulnerable neighbors, such as the elderly.A special hotline, nicknamed Heatline, will be open to the public Sunday between 8:30 a.m.

DEWEY BEACH, Del. - A ride-share turned tragic for a group of friends as a chaotic scene unfolded on a Delaware highway early Sunday morning.Delaware State Police say the incident began when six friends hired a ride-share driver to pick them up around 1:44 a.m. On their way to a home in Bethany Beach, a disagreement reportedly erupted between the group and the driver. The driver then stopped on Route 1 and demanded the group get out of the vehicle, according to police.As the group exited the vehicle, police say a car hit one of the friends trying to avoid the ride-share vehicle.

Philadelphia police investigate a shooting inside a West Philadelphia store that left a woman in critical condition. WEST PHILADELPHIA - A woman in her late 20 to early 30s is in critical condition after she was shot in the head in a West Philadelphia store.The shooting happened on the 5200 block of Market Street Friday, around 5:15 in the evening, according to officials.Police arrived to the scene to find the woman, thought to be in her late 20s or early 30s, shot in the head inside a West Philadelphia store.Police rushed her to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where she was placed in critical condition.Police are investigating the scene.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a truck used in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Philadelphia has been found, but they are still searching for the driver. According to investigators, 28-year-old Nyier Cunningham was struck by a dark-colored pick-up near the intersection of 52nd Street and Wyalusing Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday morning. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the crash and found Cunningham on the sidewalk suffering from injuries to his head and torso. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESCunningham was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, according to police.

LOWER OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A Pennsylvania State Trooper has been charged for using his police vehicle to hit a horse until it fell over in Lower Oxford Township. According to State Police, the trooper has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals for an incident that occurred on December 28, 2021. Authorities say Corporal Michael Perillo responded to assist at an incident involving a loose horse in the road. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhen he arrived on scene, Perillo drove a patrol vehicle into the horse multiple times, causing it to fall and he pinned it to the pavement, where it was euthanized by another trooper, according to officials. Police say the horse, which had already been struck by another driver, was on the shoulder of Rt.

PHILADELPHIA - A motorcyclist has died after he became trapped under a dump truck in southwest Philadelphia on Friday morning. Police say officers responded to the area of 61st Street and Passyunk Avenue around 4:20 a.m.According to authorities, a 40-year-old driver on a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound on 61st Street when a dump truck pulled doubt of a recycling center on the eastern side of the street. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice say the motorcycle driver laid his bike down and skidded several feet into the truck, becoming trapped underneath. The motorcycle's driver was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:00 a.m., according to officials. The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed, according to police.

Humboldt Broncos bus crash are sharing their thoughts the day after the truck driver responsible for the crash was granted day parole.On Wednesday, the Parole Board of Canada granted Jaskirat Singh Sidhu day parole for six months. Sidhu will get full parole after those six months if he follows all conditions, including not contacting the families of the victims.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say five people were hurt and several cars were vandalized when three unruly swimmers became violent after being told to leave a Philadelphia pool. The incident happened Thursday afternoon at the McVeigh Playground Rec Center on the 400 block of East Ontario Street, according to police.Investigators say staff members repeatedly asked three female swimmers to leave for "unruly behavior" but they refused and became hostile. The swimmers continued to sit at the end of the pool threaten staff members, police said. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESStaff members closed the pool and all other swimmers left without an issue, according to police.
