Italy manager Roberto Mancini has described the heartbreaking way coronavirus took the life of one of his childhood friends as the disease spreads further.
Ex-Manchester City boss Mancini lost a pal from his youth to the virus, which has now taken the lives of thousands of Italians.
As of Sunday night, a total of 5,476 people had died in Italy due to the coronavirus. The army has been called in to manage a lockdown in the Lombardy region, and it was in Bergamo where Mancini watched the gut-wrenching scenes recently.
Reflecting on the loss of his childhood friend, Mancini said: “He used to play football with me when we were kids. "He worked for a charity in Jesi.
