RTÉ’s Claire Byrne confirms she has coronavirus

RTÉ has confirmed that broadcaster Claire Byrne has tested positive for coronavirus and will give an update on her condition on her show on Monday night.

This comes after the presenter was praised for hosting her programme from her shed last week. On Monday Claire let her colleagues know that she is feeling ‘well now’ as she was past the ‘peak of the condition.’ The presenter wanted to inform her colleagues about he diagnosis at ‘the earliest opportunity’ and she shared that she was working with her GP and Medmark to get back to work as soon as it was safe to do so.

She thanked her colleagues who reached out to her while she was unwell to ‘express support.’ In an email circulated to RTÉ staff, Claire added: ‘In particular, those in RTÉ
