Councils have listed provisional start dates for wider access, ranging from August 11 to 20, as the Record revealed last month.

But most schools will only be allowing a small number of their pupils in at any one time. Swinney said only around 50% of pupils will be able to attend schools in most cases because of the current rules on people staying two metres apart.
