A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for not obeying lockdown rules put in place during the coronavirus crisis. The teenager reportedly refused to give his name and address, prompting police to take him into custody on Saturday.
It happened in Leeds, where West Yorkshire Police senior section officer Ste Richardson said he had no choice but to arrest him.
He wrote on Twitter, Leeds Live reports : "Today I arrested a 13 year old male under the new corona virus powers. "The male refused to give me any details so I could take him home under the Act.
He was arrested and taken to custody. "His mother was dealt with for being a responsible person failing to comply." Since Thursday, police have been able to use powers to enforce staying at home
