More than 150 companies across Greater Manchester have been reported for flouting coronavirus rules in the last two days, as hundreds of workers came forward to raise concerns with the mayor.
Andy Burnham is again calling on the government tighten public health guidance and stop all non-essential work - amid reports of people working too close together, carrying out ‘unnecessary’ tasks given the scale of the current lockdown.
On Wednesday he had a phone call with Greater Manchester MPs, several of whom expressed concerns that firms such as JD Sports and similar warehousing firms were still operating and were not following social distancing guidelines.
