Andy Burnham today warned Good Morning Britain viewers that the UK is set to head into the worst of the coronavirus crisis. Speaking live from his home in Leigh, the Greater Manchester Mayor warned residents that 'firm action' will be taken against those who flout the lockdown measures over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Mr Burnham made reference to the breaches Greater Manchester Police publicised on Thursday, where they revealed 660 parties had been broken up during the pandemic.
The force said there were 1,132 coronavirus-related incidents from March 25 to April 7, which included 494 house parties - some with DJs and bouncy castles - and 166 street parties.
