A Scots health board has cancelled all home births in new coronavirus measures. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde says it has suspended all home births for the time being in a bid to "concentrate maternity staff" in hospitals after some are absent due to showing Covid-19 symptoms or are self-isolating.
The Trust said it would be contacting women who already had a home birth booked in, to make other arrangements.A spokeswoman said: "Regrettably, NHSGGC has taken a decision to suspend all home births."This is to allow us to concentrate our maternity staff in our hospitals to cover those who are absent from work because they are either self-isolating or symptomatic."The Daily Record has launched our NHS Heroes campaign to thank the remarkable NHS
