Scottish zoo welcomes birth of rare wild kitten - and it's adorable

A Scottish Zoo has welcomed a 'functionally extinct' rare wild kitten. Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder is celebrating the birth of the adorable Scottish Wildcat.

The breed is one of the most endangered cat populations in the world after becoming endangered in 2018. The kitten was born to parents Morag and Fletcher but given their elusive nature, has only been seen a handful of times.Keepers are yet to name the animal as they do not know the sex yet.The zoo said: "We are delighted to announce the birth of a rare Scottish Wildcat kitten here at Five Sisters Zoo."The breeding programme that we are proud to be part of is a lifeline for this fragile population and without help from conservationists and zoos, would be dangerously close to
