'Secret knock' pubs staying open spark fury as drinkers defy coronavirus lockdown

If there’s one thing us Brits can’t wait to do once the nationwide coronavirus lockdown is finally lifted, it’s go down the pub.

With the sun shining in recent weeks, many of us have been longing to get ourselves down to a nice beer garden to make the most of the lovely weather with friends.

But with pubs shut in order to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus, which has so far killed more than 18,000 people across the UK, this dream sadly seems a way off yet.

But that hasn’t stopped some landlords from sneakily opening their doors to locals as they blatantly flout the lockdown. Some people have called the venues out, both to the authorities and online.
