Pubs could reopen by taking over whole streets and town centres under radical plans

Pubs across the UK have been urged to create socially-distant seating areas in fields and high streets so they can reopen as soon as possible.

It comes after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the nation on Sunday that some hospitality businesses could open their doors on July 1.

But this would only be if they could maintain a socially-distant environment in their establishment. Kurt Janson, the director for The Voice of Tourism, aims to lobby the government to assist with issues facing the tourism industry, and believes radical thinking will be needed to get pubs and cafes to open in the near future.

He suggested they think outside the box in order to help them during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Mr Janson told The Sun Online:
