The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, recently announced details of the extension to the furlough scheme which is currently supporting 8.4 million workers across the UK.
There had been concerns that no additional support would be offered to self-employed workers, but the Chancellor confirmed there would be an extension to the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).
The SEISS was established by the UK Government and opened in mid-March to assist those who are not in PAYE employment. Those who are eligible for the scheme will now be able to claim a second and final grant in August - worth 70 per cent of their average monthly trading profits.
