WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A number of Gloucester County schools have been ordered to shelter in place due to anonymous threats in the area, officials say.

The shelter in place orders include all Washington Township Public Schools, but school officials say none of the threats have been specific to the township. The orders came after police received a number of anonymous threats against schools, according to officials.

The nature of the threats is unknown at this time. Washington Township Public Schools says a shelter in place order allows for normal school operations, but the doors in all district buildings are locked and no visitors are allowed.

Parents are asked to respect the order and refrain from accessing school grounds. ___DOWNLOAD: .
