KENSINGTON - A dog gets a second lease on life, saved by some Philadelphia firefighters. The dog was severely injured, but is living her own happily ever after.Philadelphia firefighters are used to saving lives, but on a Friday night in late June, a different kind of rescue mission was taking place at Engine 7, Ladder 10 in Kensington.

Someone in the neighborhood showed up at the door, looking for help after finding a severely injured pit bull."He had Charlie wrapped in a towel and she was real bloody," Ladder 10 Firefighter Joe Pedrick stated.They tried to clean her up and then rushed her to ACCT Philly for care.

The dog was in such bad shape, ACCT immediately sent her to an emergency veterinary hospital."We really only do it in the most.

EAST FALLS - Police say a person is in custody after two women were stabbed Wednesday afternoon inside a home in East Falls. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to a property on the 3300 block of Indian Queen Lane just after 11:30 a.m. for reports of a disturbance. Officer found two 29-year-old women suffering from stab wounds inside the home.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio - A 12-year-old boy with autism, who went missing for 11 hours, was spotted and rescued by Ohio State Highway Patrol using its helicopter.Multiple media outlets identified the boy as Brody Davis of Scottown. He was reported missing July 10 after last being seen along Township Road 74 wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and no shoes, according to news reports. Troopers said their flight crew spotted the boy in the woods near his home much later in the day with the help of its helicopter.

COVID-19 infection among unvaccinated individuals, the province’s top doctor said Tuesday as he called again for all those eligible to get their shots.Over the last three months, 96 per cent of people between the ages of 19 and 29 who were infected with COVID-19 weren’t vaccinated against the virus, Dr. Kieran Moore said.Ninety-nine per cent of infected people between the ages of 12 and 17 were unvaccinated.“That age group is coming down with a higher rate of disease than other age groups across Ontario,” Moore said.
