It's crucial to a normal healthy skincare routine, but with most of us now at home - is SPF still essential? I like to think of myself as a serial SPF wearer.

Battling acne for most of my adult life taught me early on the importance of sun protection in the quest for healthy skin. For one, infrared heat from the sun can cause acne to flare up, and second - and by far a greater concern to me - sun exposure leads to darkening the pigmentation of acne scars.

Having to deal with acne on top of the remnants it leaves behind is a feat no one wants to endure, and so in SPF, I found my first line of defence.
