Let me rephrase that: the discussions about DIY haircuts, that is. A colleague of mine cut her boyfriend’s hair last week, another cut her son’s; countless friends have also been ‘let loose’ on their partner’s hair.

And they’re not alone. On Instagram, the hashtags #CovidCut and #LockdownHaircut have had thousands of posts in an ever-expanding collection.
