Sky and BT Sport will resist pressure to screen remaining Premier League games for free despite calls for them to be made available to all, it is claimed.
The broadcasting giants have the rights to show 47 of the remaining Premier League games this season, which has been halted due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Calls from culture secretary Oliver Dowden this week made it clear that the Government stance would be for all households to be able to watch games, even if they did not have Sky or BT.
It is feared that a return to subscription channels could lead members of the public to visit friends houses to watch games and not remain in isolation.
