More coronavirus deaths were recorded in South Lanarkshire than anywhere else in Scotland last week.Figures released by the National Records of Scotland today (Wednesday, June 10) revealed the number of coronavirus deaths in the region had risen for the first time in six weeks.The 13 coronavirus deaths indicated a rise of 62.5 per cent from the previous week and was five higher than anywhere else in Scotland.Of those, seven occurred in care homes and six in the region’s hospitals.That brings the total number of deaths here from the virus to 295, 134 of which were in care homes.
Of the remaining, 131 were in hospital and 30 were in other settings including at home.North Lanarkshire saw just five coronavirus deaths last week, the lowest there.
