The government has warned it will impose tougher measures to combat the spread of coronavirus if people keep ignoring the advice on 'social distancing'.
On Monday, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson said people should work from home if possible and avoid all but 'essential' contact with others.
The entire British population is also being asked to avoid public transport, gathering in large groups and public spaces such as pubs, bars and restaurants, and gatherings withe friends and family.
After today, all schools and colleges will also close. The extreme measures are having a devastating effect on the hospitality sector, with the government being asked to step in and cover costs while venues are closed.
