Former Bolton Wanderers footballer Marvin Sordell has spoken out about how his mental health was partly affected by the pressures of moving to a Premier League club.

Sordell joined Bolton Wanderers  in January 2012 from Watford in a £3m move. But after later stints at Burnley, Coventry City and most recently Northampton Town on loan last year, the striker made the decision to retire - citing his mental health struggles as a factor.

Sordell is now part of a BBC documentary which airs tonight led by Prince William, Football, Prince William and our Mental Health , as the royal campaigns for people to open up a conversation around mental health issues, particularly in football.
