If things weren’t looking good for the seventh season of Love Island before, they’re looking worse now. The sensationally popular ITV show, which has been filmed in Majorca for the past five years, has been under jeopardy due to the current health pandemic.
ITV bosses have now revealed that they are at the stage that they need to decide if the show can go ahead. Channel head Kevin Lygo said in a virtual interview for Edinburgh TV festival that they may need to abandon the Love Island summer series because it could send ‘the wrong signal’.
He said: ‘What signal might it be sending out if we’re doing a show where everyone is crammed together slavering over each other, and the rest of the world is told not to go near anyone in the park?’ He
