Both supermarkets have introduced policies to try and enforce social distancing while people shop. Security guards will help ensure these policies are carried out as supermarkets brace themselves for one of the busiest days of the year so far.
Coles will restrict customers to 110 people in its smallest store and 275 in its largest, according to A Current Affair. Woolworths will restrict customers depending on the size of the shop, while Aldi will range from 70-100 people per store.
These measures could mean queuing outside, and customers entering on a one-in-and-one-out basis. Coles’ Chief Operating Officer, Matt Swindells has asked shoppers to only come to stores if it's absolutely necessary and to shop quickly and efficiently.
