MANHATTAN, New York - A civilian helped catch an armed suspect Thursday, who was fleeing from police in New York City. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of New York, the suspect, Jason Fleming, was arrested on March 16 after brandishing loaded weapons following a dispute in a crowded bodega in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.Surveillance video shows Fleming, 39, outside the bodega pulling back his coat momentarily to reveal a rifle that had been swung over his shoulder.Police officers then approached the suspect after a witness called 911, and Fleming took off running down the sidewalk. In the footage, the citizen pushes the suspect into a nearby fence.

PHILADELPHIA - Federal authorities are searching for a man who they say threatened to blow up a Philadelphia bank during a robbery.Investigators say the suspect, described as a 5-foot-7 heavyset white man, entered the PNC Bank on the 1001 block of East Erie Avenue around 6 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect, dressed in dark clothes with a face covering and gloves, handed the bank teller a note that authorities say threatened to detonate a concealed explosive device. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the bank, police said.

UPPER MORELAND, Pa. - Authorities in Montgomery County are searching for an armed robbery suspect who they believe could be behind a rash of similar crimes. The Upper Moreland Police Department shared video of a masked man entering the Sunoco on Easton Road in Willow Grove around 1 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say the man used a handgun to force the store clerk to hand over $400 in cash and fled the gas station in a Nissan Rouge with tinted windows and a roof rack. Police in Upper Moreland and neighboring townships are investigating if the suspect is responsible for other recent gunpoint robberies. "Our concern is that somebody is going to get hurt before we can catch him," Lt.

Dio Garcia of Philadelphia was arrested in Bensalem.  BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Bensalem Township Police Department is touting the success of what they call proactive police work after an armed robbery suspect wanted in Philadelphia was arrested during a traffic stop in the Bucks County town. Authorities say on Tuesday, just before 10 a.m., patrol officers saw a 2013 Ford Edge commit a violation while going south on Route 1. According to police, the officers initiated a traffic stop and made contact with 40-year-old Dio Garcia from Philadelphia. A check of the crime system revealed the car Garcia was driving was listed as a felony vehicle with an occupant wanted for a point-of-gun robbery, officials say. Police say Garcia was also wanted out of Florida on a warrant for a probation violation. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESGarcia was taken into police custody and the Ford Edge was towed by police, authorities say. After a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, a search led to the finding of a container of suspected marijuana and a loaded .40 caliber Beretta handgun, officials say. The gun, which was reported stolen out of Delaware, matched the description of the weapon used in the armed robbery in Philadelphia, per police. Police say Garcia faces several charges in Bensalem and Philadelphia Police are obtaining an arrest warrant for the gunpoint robbery.

PHILADELPHIA - Dozens of stolen artifacts, some dating back to the French and Indian war, have been returned to their rightful owners.The Museum of the American Revolution hosted a ceremony on Monday to display the dozens of items stolen from various museums and historical societies between 1968 and 1979, before they were carefully packaged to go back to 16 different museums in Pennsylvania and five other states."Their long absence from public view, away where no one can see or learn from them was a loss both to society and our historic record," said Jacqueline Maguire Special Agent in Charge with the Philadelphia Field Office. BERKS COUNTY - Pennsylvania State Police say eight individuals worked together to pull off a nearly $700 theft from a CVS store in Berks County last week.The group pulled up to the CVS on Shoemaker Avenue in Shoemakersville in three different vehicles on March 6.All eight suspects were spotted on surveillance before police say they collectively stole $676 in merchandise, mostly cosmetics.MORE HEADLINES:They then left the store and fled in their vehicles, which police say were parked far enough away that registration could not be seen.The suspected cars are said to be a black sedan, silver sedan and black SUV. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

PHILADELPHIA - A man getting off a SEPTA bus was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a car, leaving him in critical condition Friday night.Police say the 33-year-old victim stepped off a SEPTA bus at Germantown Ave and Butler Street in Nicetown around 7:30 p.m.When the man tried to cross the street in front of the bus, police say a car drove around the bus and hit him. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say six kids between the ages of 11-14 have been arrested in the brutal and seemingly unprovoked beating of a woman in Center City. The Philadelphia Police Department said three boys - ages 11, 13 and 14 - and three girls - ages 12, 13, and 14 - are charged with a number of crimes, including aggravated assault, robbery, and reckless endangerment (REAP). The department on Thursday shared a surveillance photo of the only remaining unidentified suspect in the brutal assault. PHILADELPHIA - A mother and daughter are injured after police say they were shot inside a Holmesburg pizza shop Wednesday night. Just before 9 p.m., police responded to Mayfair Pizza, located on the 7400 block of Frankford Avenue, for reports of a shooting. Police say gunfire erupted after an attempted robbery inside the pizza shop. Investigators say 19-year-old Kaleb Bridges walked into the family-owned and operated pizza shop and asked for money while pointing a gun at the employees. MORE HEADLINES Authorities say the suspect fired three shots inside the store, hitting a 65-year-old woman in the stomach and her 34-year-old daughter in the shoulder. Police told FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson that the husband and father of the victims, along with employees and customers inside the store, jumped on top of the gunman and subdued him until police arrived. The victims were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where authorities say they were placed in stable condition.Bridges was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, according to police. He was later charged with aggravated assault, VUFA and related charges.

PHILADELPHIA - A woman accused of shooting another woman several times in the bathroom of a Philadelphia bar has been taken into custody, according to police. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 4700 block of Rising Sun Avenue around 9 p.m. for reports of a shooting inside the bar. Witnesses told responding officers that they heard gunshots shortly after two women entered the bar's bathroom, and one woman exited the bathroom and left the bar. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that the shooting victim was driven to Temple University Hospital with three gunshot wounds and immediately taken to surgery. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESBar patrons provided police a description of the alleged shooter which helped officers find the 39-year-old suspect about two blocks away.

The United States’ list of recently sanctioned entities for alleged support for Russia’s war effort in Ukraine includes two Canadian companies, U.S. and Canadian authorities said on Monday.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are seeking three more suspects after they arrested one for a carjacking that they say ended in a police pursuit. On Saturday, around 9 p.m., officers from the 6th district responded to the 1200 block of Poplar Street for a carjacking. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim about the stolen car information and the description for the suspects. When one of the officers went over the radio to inform the district of the car details, another officer observed the stolen car traveling southbound on Broad Street. Authorities say the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the stolen car when the offenders took off at a high rate of speed. MORE HEADLINES The pursuit ended at 700 Chester Pike in Prospect Park after the offenders crashed into a fence, according to police. After the crash, police say four offenders fled from the car, but one suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - About 20 cars of a Norfolk Southern cargo train derailed near Springfield Saturday evening, the second derailment of the company's trains in Ohio in a month, officials said. But unlike the Feb. 3 derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, a company spokesperson said there were no hazardous materials aboard the train, The Columbus Dispatch reported.The CEO of the railroad company behind the toxic derailment in Ohio will face lawmakers next week in both Pennsylvania and DC.The train, which did not have passengers, derailed around 5 p.m.
