PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect they say tied up delivery truck driver and drove off in his truck with the driver still inside. The incident occurred back on Feb. 10, around 11 a.m.

A Sharon Hill mother is searching for her family dog, which serves as an emotional support animal for her son, who has autism.  SHARON HILL, Pa. - A local family is hoping for the safe return of their beloved dog, but the animal is more than just a pet. The Bolar family in Sharon Hill has now had several sleepless nights knowing their dog Ruzteze is gone. The 15-pound Parson terrier is the emotional support dog for 14-year-old Amare, who has autism. Rusteze got out of a back door on Friday without his collar and hasn't been seen since. Amare has been beside himself without his best friend. "He is his companion.

TRENTON, NJ. - Amazon's Black Employee Network donated 10,000 to a cemetery in Mercer County, New Jersey. On Wednesday, Amazon workers presented the checks to the Locust Hill African Cemetery and Museum Project in Trenton. According to the official website, the project is focused on restoring the cemetery and creating a museum to honor the Black people laid to rest there. Locust Hill is Trenton's largest Black burial ground.

Officials in Ambler have backed off after planning to take an 80-year-old business owner's property through eminent domain.  AMBLER, Pa. - A business owner in Ambler is celebrating after the borough backed off from trying to take his business property through eminent domain.Pasquall Riccardi was already struggling after his auto repair shop on South Main Street burned down on Feb. 3. PHILADELPHIA - A North Philadelphia school went into a lockdown Tuesday morning as police investigated a shooting nearby. The shooting happened on the 2400 block of Diamond Street around 8:30 a.m. Following the incident, the William Dick School went into a lockdown.The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is making a recovery after he was stabbed in the East Germantown section of the city.The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Tuesday on the 5100 block of Rubicam Street.Poice say a 40-year-old man suffered one stab wound to the chest.

Bobby Andrew Johnson, 25, was sentenced to six to 15 years in state prison for selling five handguns he stole from unlocked cars in Bucks County.  (Bucks County District Attorney's Office)BUCKS COUNTY, Pa - A 25-year-old man was sentenced to six to 15 years in state prison on Monday for stealing five handguns and selling them, authorities said. According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Bobby Andrew Johnson, formerly of Richlandtown, stole handguns and other objects from unlocked cars in Upper Bucks County from April 2018 to September 2018.Johnson is accused of selling five stolen handguns, including one which was found at the home of a minor, according to the DA. During an investigation into stolen guns in multiple counties, police were led to Johnson, who admitted he took items from cars and made about $30,000 in profits. A previous 2015 felony burglary conviction also prevented Johnson from being able to possess a firearm. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges including five counts each of not to possess a firearm, illegal sale or transfer of firearms, theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. In addition to his sentence, Commons Pleas Judge Theodore C. Fritsch ordered Johnson to pay $1,785 in restitution.

PHILADELPHIA - A street in Mount Airy was rededicated Monday to honor Richard Allen, one of America’s most influential Black leaders. Allens Lane was originally named after former Philadelphia mayor William Allen. He was one of the wealthiest in Philadelphia during his time, using his money to support public interests including the building of Independence Hall and the establishment of the University of Pennsylvania. William Allen also opposed the Declaration of Independence and was a known slave owner. The street has now been rededicated to honor Richard Allen, a former slave who started the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which became the first national Black church denomination in the United States. Richard Allen fought endlessly for racial justice and equality.

JIM THORPE, Pa. - A woman has died after she fell while hiking with a group on a scenic trail that was closed by the state three years ago due to safety concerns.State police were called to a site near the Glen Onoko Falls in Carbon County around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. They were met there by several emergency responders who had carried the 72-year-old woman down the mountain from near the first of three waterfalls at the site, a trip officials said was made over "treacherous, steep, ice-covered terrain."The woman, whose name has not been released, suffered a head injury and was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police sources say a man has been found stabbed to death outside of a Wawa in South Philadelphia. Police say the stabbing happened early Monday on South Columbus Boulevard.According to authorities, a customer thought the man was asleep at the time but when police arrived, they found the man found stabbed to death. The man's car was running and the man's foot was still firmly on the brake.  The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain uncertain as well. A weapon was not found at the scene and no arrests have been made at this time.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Police in Delaware’s biggest city are investigating the vandalism of multiple locations with spray-painted swastikas. The News Journal in Wilmington reports that The Columbus Inn in Wilmington’s Wawaset neighborhood,  a billboard on nearby Union Street and Brandywine Counseling and Community Services are among the spots vandalized.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia’s first gun buyback of 2022 kicked off on Saturday.The event was led by Bilal Qayyum with Fathers Day Rally Committee along with leaders from the Philadelphia City Council.For every gun that was turned in, no questions asked, the person was given a $100 gift certificate to a local grocer.One person turned in ten guns alone. In total, 28 guns were turned in Saturday – 24 handguns and 4 long guns. "A lot of guns and the police would tell you this, that are on the streets today, ended up legal guns in someone house, someone broke in and took that gun.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating after four men broke into a home and assaulted a man in Northeast Philadelphia. The incident happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the 6900 block of Horrocks Street. Police say four unknown men, two of which were armed, forced entry through the basement door. They then assaulted a 41-year-old man and took approximately $28,000 ($10,000 in coins, $10,000 in checks, and $8,000 in cash) in various currency from the man.

PHILADELPHIA - A man has lost his life after a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia. The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday on the 6000 block of Woodland Avenue. Police say the 29-year-old man was shot once in the left armpit inside a Nissan Altima.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Delaware County responded to a gruesome scene Friday morning after they say a man murdered his girlfriend and attempted to decapitate her. Officers responded to the Willow Apartments on the 400 block of Springfield Road in Clifton Heights around 4 a.m. Friday morning.Law enforcement sources tell FOX 29’s Steve Keeley that police found the man using a machete in an attempt to decapitate the victim. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and the victim was pronounced dead.

DARBY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Briarcliffe Fire Company has been shut down for at least the next 30 days as Delaware County officials investigate the alleged use of racial slurs on a recent virtual meeting. The fire company, located in Darby Township will not be receiving fire calls during the suspension. The suspension comes after a Jan. 27 virtual meeting between township fire companies and commissioners about a potential consolidation. According to a letter from the Goodwill Fire Company obtained by FOX 29, following the end of the meeting, a group of people remained on the call. The letter says there was then a group of people that could be heard discussing the meeting using foul language, and identifies those involved in the conversation as members of the Briarcliffe Fire Company. The conversation, which lasted an hour and 45 minutes, allegedly included racial slurs when discussing members of other fire companies and township residents.One of the Briarcliffe Fire Company members was also accused of making a joke about, Fanta Bility, a young girl who was killed in a shooting in Sharon Hill last fall.Derogatory and otherwise offensive comments were also allegedly made about other township officials.Township officials say the incident is under investigation, and that a criminal referral is expected to be made to the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office. MORE HEADLINES:In their letter, the Goodwill Fire Company Board of directors expressed their concern for the fire companies and safety of the community. "This is not appropriate and does not belong in the township," the letter read. Darby Township officials are scheduled to speak on the issue at 2 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly agreed to a trade that would send Ben Simmons, Seth Curry and draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that backup center Andre Drummond will also be heading to Brooklyn as part of the deal, and the 76ers will receive Paul Millsap as part of the deal. Wojnarowski reports that the picks Philadelphia is sending to Brooklyn include an unprotected 2022 first-round pick and a protected 2027 first-round pick.Harden and Simmons have dominated trade deadline headlines in recent weeks as the disgruntled Simmons had yet to suit up for the 76ers this season.
