Tamil Nadu witnessed the highest spike in coronavirus count today as 17 fresh had reported from the state. With these new cases, the total number of COVID-19 patients in the state has surged to 67.
As many as 10 new cases were confirmed from Erode, said Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappad Palaniswami. All of them were direct or indirect contact of two Thailand nationals who had earlier tested positive for coronavirus infection.
These fresh cases were identified through contact tracing, confirmed Tamil Nadu health minister Dr C Vijayabaskar. All patients were admitted to hospitals.
