Venues around the country are closed until further notice, but TempleLive, a theater in Fort Smith, Ark., has experimented with what live entertainment can look like amidst a global pandemic.
With mass gatherings still on hold, the venue held a socially distanced concert with on May 18 with Travis McCready, the lead singer of Mississippi-based country rock band Bishop Gunn.
At full capacity, TempleLive’s sellable capacity per show is 1,100. Operating at 20% capacity, the venue narrowed attendance to a maximum of 229 people.
Aside from comp tickets, mostly held for members of the media, the show sold out at 185 tickets. The theater sometimes scales ticket pricing based on seat location, but all tickets were $20 for the May 18 show.
