It is understood the Government will announce a temporary ban on evictions for an initial period of three months, while the Covid-19 crisis is ongoing.
It is also understood that ministers are considering a temporary ban on rent increases for people whose incomes have been impacted by coronavirus.
The Cabinet discussed the measures to help renters impacting by Covid-19 at a meeting today. Legislative changes are due to be announced by Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy.
