A coronavirus patient died every 30 minutes in Greater Manchester hospitals as the pandemic's deadly toll reached a terrifying new peak.
Exactly five weeks after the first confirmed Covid-19 death in the region, there have now been 505 deaths recorded by NHS England.
And while it took 23 days for the number of hospital deaths in Greater Manchester to reach 100, the last 100 deaths have been announced in just two days.
On Tuesday last week, there were a total of 48 Covid-19 fatalities in hospitals across the region in one 24-hour period - the equivalent of one every half an hour.
