Bury seems to have taken a particular hit with increasing numbers in both Radcliffe and Sedgley Park. In the Prestwich neighbourhood of Sedgley Park, there were 50 positive tests, 23 more than in the previous week, marking an 85pc increase.

That's a case rate of 523 per 100,000 people. Another Bury area recording a case rate higher than 400 was Radcliffe , where cases more than doubled to 36 in the week up to February 17, up 22 on the previous week.

It means the rate was 425. Also experiencing high case rates were communities in Bolton , where the lockdown appears to have been less effective than in other UK authorities.
