Eamonn Holmes angered This Morning viewers today after he appeared to fuel a conspiracy theory linking 5G and coronavirus. The ITV presenter was speaking to Alice Beer with his co-host wife Ruth Langsford for a segment about how to spot fake news when he made a controversial comment.

Alice had been attempting to quash myths that had been circulating on social media about whether the new wireless technology could be linked somehow to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But Eamonn went on a tangent attacking mainstream media for "slapping down" the claims, adding that it "suits state narrative" to say it is not true.
