Three men arrested after series of shop robberies targeting workers since start of lockdown

Three men have been arrested in dawn raids following an investigation into shop robberies targeting lone workers since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.

In all but one of the incidents, the culprits were armed with a Taser or stun gun. The stores targeted are a lifeline to many during the COVID-19 crisis.

Three men, from Tameside and Oldham, were detained following break-ins in Oldham, Tameside and Stockport. Officers from GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group (SOCG) and Tameside division arrested the men - aged 23, 22 and 19 - on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
