A Cabinet minister has said it is "far too early" to decide whether to postpone next year's exams amid growing pressure on ministers to avert another grades fiasco.
Environment Secretary George Eustice rebuffed calls from Labour to push back A-Level and GCSEs to help pupils catch up after coronavirus derailed their schooling for months.
Pupils are due to return to the classroom on Tuesday after many spent nearly six months away from school. Shadow Education Secretary Kate Green said pupils entering Year 11 and 13 face "a mountain to climb" and called for exams to be shifted from May into June or July.
But Mr Eustice told BBC Breakfast: "I think the reality is we want to get schools back, and we want students to be sitting their exams as
