Women should get a bob cut and skip blow drys when salons reopen if they want to curb the spread of coronavirus, a top stylist has said.

Tim Hartley, a former director at Vidal Sassoon, said the cut, kept in fashion by the likes of Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton and Rosamund Pike, is the “hygienic-yet-trendy” option.

Hour-long blow drys will no longer be safe for stylists or clients once the Government gives salons the OK to reopen, Mr Hartley, 66, told DevonLive.

Hairdressers and barber shops have been shut since the lockdown began on March 24 - forcing many Britons to try cutting their own hair at home - and they aren't expected to be open again until July at the earliest.
