More than 80 per cent of local areas in the UK have seen coronavirus cases soar, according to the latest statistics. Of the 377 local authority areas, 314 (83 per cent) have seen a week-on-week rise in Covid-19 rates, 62 (16pc) have seen a fall and one is unchanged.
