UK's official coronavirus death toll passes 40,000 mark

The Department of Health has confirmed there have now been 40,261 recorded deaths, which includes people who have died in hospitals, care homes and in the wider community.This is an increase of 357 from yesterday's figure of 39,904.The statement reads: "As of 9am 5 June, there have been 5,214,277 tests, with 207,231 tests on 4 June.
