RBI) announced that the limit for contactless card transactions will be increased from 1 January 2021, from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000.
The limit was enhanced as the banking regulator feels that it’s safe and convenient to use contactless cards in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic and will also give a push to the adoption of digital payments.“Considering that most of the transactions are below ₹1,000, the new limit is generous.
