USI calls for clarity over student accommodation with time on campus unclear

The President of the Union of Students in Ireland has said the vast amount of universities and institutions need to provide clarity around student accommodation.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Lorna Fitzpatrick welcomed the flexible arrangements that some third level institutions have announced but said this needs to be extended to all institutions and the private sector.

In addition, she said, there is huge uncertainty about how the academic year will look for many students and just how much time they will have to spend on campus.
