Vaccine portal for 18-34 year olds to open this week

Registration on the HSE portal for people aged 18 to 34 for the AstraZeneca vaccine is expected to open during this week, the Health Service Executive has said.

The estimate for the number of unvaccinated people in the 18 to 34 age group is about 800,000. This age cohort can 'opt in' for Janssen or AstraZeneca for earlier vaccination or wait to register for an mRna vaccine - either Pfizer or Moderna.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly said that the HSE expects to administer the 5 millionth dose of a Covid-19 vaccine this week.
