Tourist attractions nationwide are slowly reopening their doors at the moment as the sector faces into a summer with expected lower numbers, thanks to the effects of Covid-19 and restrictions that have to be put in place to protect public health.
The 2020 season is going to be much different to previous years, with little or no foreign visitors expected, in the short-term at least, while domestic numbers will also be capped in many regular hotspots to try to promote social distancing.
However, Fáilte Ireland research suggests that 57% of people are now planning a short break in Ireland within the next six months as consumer confidence improves along with the easing of lockdown.
