'We're going into lockdown, it's inevitable'... what people at The Rock in Bury say about the threat of tougher coronavirus restrictions

Manchester Evening News asked shoppers at The Rock in Bury town centre if they think a lockdown for the borough is on its way.

Many of them all came out with one word: inevitable. Whitefield pensioner Dot Hollinsworth was shielding from March onward and has only just got back out in society in the recent weeks.She was already feeling nervous about emerging after months in isolation, but a sharp rise in cases has left her outright 'scared'."I'm shocked at the rise in cases.

I've been shielding since March and it wasn't a very nice experience."I'm usually out and about but I had to stay inside, my son and daughter had to do my shopping, I wouldn't even go for a walk just to be safe."Now I'm finally back out again and this happens.
