The FA is expected to announce the departure of England Women’s head coach Phil Neville at the end of his contract next year.
Widespread reports claim that the former Manchester United defender will not look to sign an extension to his current deal that expires at the end of June in 2021.
With the Women’s Euros now pushed back a year due to the coronavirus pandemic and the rescheduling of the men’s European Championships, Neville’s last major competition could be the delayed Olympics, which has also been affected by the pandemic and had to be postponed for a year.
Neville has been in charge of the team since 2018, leading them to a semi-final in the Women’s World Cup last summer, losing out on a place in the final to eventual Champions USA.
