Independence Day is just around the corner. The federal U.S. holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
It was the day that the colonies declared they were united and independent, and no longer part of Great Britain. As tradition holds, July 4 is often associated with parades, fireworks, barbecues gatherings, beach parties, and other fun events.
But because of the current global health crisis that has led to quarantines and social distancing, chances are people will celebrate at home and on video chat with their loved ones.
