This was a remarkable show of global solidarity and commitment to equitable access to diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines.

Next, I'd like to briefly tell you about our updated Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan, which will be published in the coming days.

NJ man found dead after allegedly setting fire to hospital employee, officials say

HACKENSACK, N.J. - Officials in New Jersey say a man who was wanted for allegedly setting an employee on fire has been found dead.Officials says Nicholas Pagano, 31, was a nurse who worked at the Hackensack University Medical Center. Police say Pagano died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Waterford Township early Tuesday morning. On Monday at approximately 5:15 a.m., police received a 911 call from the Hackensack University Medical Center with a report of an assault. Through an investigation, police learned that Pagano allegedly attacked a 54-year-old employee and burned her as well. He also struck the victim with a wrench.

Man shot 19 times during hail of gunfire in West Oak Lane, police say

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a young man was shot nearly a dozen times during a shootout Monday night in West Oak Lane. Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that at least 35 shots were fired on the 7700 block of Cedarbrook Avenue around 8:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man shot 19 times in the arms, legs, back torso, and buttocks. Ontario COVID numbers: 2,254 people in hospital, 474 in intensive care

COVID on Tuesday, with 474 in intensive care units.This is up by 99 hospitalizations but a decrease of 12 in ICUs since the previous day. Last Tuesday, there were 3,091 hospitalizations with 568 in ICU.The province recently began distinguishing between those who were admitted to hospital directly because of COVID, and those who were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for the virus.Of the 2,254 people in hospital with COVID-19, 56 per cent of them were admitted because of the virus, while 44 per cent were admitted for other reasons but tested positive for COVID-19.Of the 474 people in ICUs with the virus, around 82 per cent were admitted because of COVID, while around 18 per cent were admitted for other reasons.

Judge bans honking from truckers in downtown Ottawa for 10 days

Health Strike : Talks fail and Trade Unions to continue strike
