Sarmistha Singh Shrestha, an executive assistant at the Communicable Disease Division of the World Health Organization, Country Office for Nepal, is getting accustomed to her new role in the communications team.
With the Incident Management System (IMS) activated in the wake of the COVID-19 emergency, Shrestha is among several other WHO staff members in the Nepal office who have been assigned new roles with new supervisors.
To be precise, the country office has been completely reorganized and repurposed in its response to the COVID19 emergency. The WHO has a Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) team to respond to health emergencies.
